Red Sox fans troll the Yankees after taking first game of series

Boston Red Sox fans trolled the Yankees hard after winning Game 1 of their weekend rivalry series.

The Sox won the first game of their series against the Yankees behind Nathan Eovaldi and Rafael Devers, who hit a three-run home run in the first inning off Michael King.

Boston was already ahead of the Yankees in the AL East standings, and they only added to New York’s struggles on Friday night thanks to a 5-2 win.

Suddenly, the Yankees are a full five games behind the Tampa Bay Rays for first place in the East, while Boston is within 1.5 games.

The Yankees haven’t lived up to expectations so far this season. Sure, injuries have played a role, but their lineup is surprisingly a problem, with the pitching staff holding up despite an ailment to Corey Kluber.

New York are losers of seven of their last ten games. Surely, something has to change in the Bronx, as the current assortment isn’t cutting it, period.

The Yankees failed to take advantage of several pitches middle-in from Eovaldi, which has become a regular occurrence from this addition of the Bronx Bomber. Matt Barnes shut the door, and suddenly the Yanks are just one loss away from an awful homestand.
