Floyd Mayweather and Logan Paul go toe to toe in the exhibition bout that has everybody’s attention for all sorts of reasons. Join us for live updates.

Retired undefeated multiple-time world boxing champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. does battle in an exhibition bout with YouTuber Logan Paul. It’s an odd pairing that’s strangely captivating boxing fans and casual spectators.

Mayweather (50-0, 27 KOs) hasn’t been in a professional fight since his 2017 TKO of Conor McGregor, but he has done on exhibition before. He embarrassed kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa in 2018.

Paul (0-1) lost his one professional boxing bout to fellow YouTuber KSI in 2019 via split decision. He actually dropped KSI in round 4, but the points didn’t go his way. The contrast in boxing records and experience is staggering, but Paul’s 6-inch height and 34.5-pound weight advantage over Mayweather gives people something to talk about.

Mayweather has beaten bigger opponents before but has never been in with somebody as heavy as Paul. Will that matter? Probably not, but it creates a curious spectacle.

The debate as to whether YouTubers and social media influencers are helping or hurting boxing will continue and likely be a hot topic tonight on boxing Twitter, but strong pay-per-view buys for Showtime and Fanmio would go a long way in settling that debate.

Mayweather vs. Paul takes place a few hours from now on Sunday, June 6, from the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, FL. Coverage begins on Showtime pay-per-view starting at 8 p.m. ET. Expect Mayweather vs. Paul ring walks to begin anywhere between 11-12 p.m. ET. The timing is an approximation and may begin earlier, so check in from time to time.

Round 8

The last minute of the final round passed quickly. Paul continued to clinch as they dirty boxed inside. The wrestling ate up the second minute of the round. Mayweather threw his hands sparingly. Paul started to jeer Mayweather, who allowed Paul to remain on his feet for the entirety of the fight.

Mayweather vs. Paul caused a stir and commotion in the build-up, but the final product was a dud. Paul proved to be an efficient wrestler, as he held Mayweather for the majority of their matchup. Very few punches landed, and Mayweather didn’t do anything eye-catching to make fans want to see him in another exhibition. The poor stream quality and main event will leave a lot of fans highly disappointed.
