Alabama has scheduled a home-and-home series with Oklahoma State and Boston College that begin in 2028 and 2029, respectively.

Alabama football fans should be excited about the upcoming home-and-home series with two Power 5 schools: Boston College and Oklahoma State.

Alabama announced a home-and-home on Tuesday with Oklahoma State to be played in the 2028 and 2029 seasons. The 2028 date will be in Stillwater with the 2029 game in Tuscaloosa. To pull this off, Alabama had to move its home-and-home series with Notre Dame to the 2029 and 2030 seasons.

“This series with Oklahoma State continues to show our commitment to solidifying quality home-and-home matchups for our future football schedules,” said Alabama athletic director Greg Byrne in a statement. “We look forward to visiting Stillwater in 2028 and welcoming the Cowboys to Tuscaloosa the following year.”

On Wednesday morning, Alabama announced a home-and-home series with Boston College during the 2031 and 2034 seasons. Alabama has not played Boston College since the 1983 and 1984 seasons. Boston College hosts Alabama at Chestnut Hill in 2031, while Alabama hosts in 2034.

“Our future schedules continue to fill out nicely with quality home-and-home series, many of which present us with opportunities to play opponents and go places we haven’t been to in a while or ever,” said Byrne. “The 2031 matchup in Chestnut Hill will be a great trip for our team and our fans, and we look forward to hosting the Eagles here in Tuscaloosa in 2034.”

As impressive as it has been to see Byrne go to work and call up other Power 5 schools to schedule a home-and-home, a downside to the Saban era in Tuscaloosa has been his reluctance to play somebody good at their place in the non-conference portion of the schedule. It has usually been neutral-site, season-kickoff affairs.

It is kind of funny to see Saban say how excited he is to see Alabama play teams like Ohio State, Notre Dame and now Boston College and Oklahoma State, knowing darn well he is probably going to be retired by the time these games are played.
