Former Packers receiver thinks Aaron Rodgers will attend training camp, fix relationship with G.M.

James Jones is of the belief Aaron Rodgers will attend Green Bay Packers training camp.

As tumultuous of an offseason it has been for Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers, his former teammate James Jones believes the reigning NFL MVP quarterback will be at training camp later on this summer.

“I truly believe that he will be there for training camp, this will get fixed, and I think the relationship will get much better between him and the GM,” said Jones on The Herd With Colin Cowherd Tuesday.

Jones added that Rodgers’ supposed beef with the Packers has nothing to do with general manager Brian Gutekunst. While he knows exactly what Rodgers’ beef with Green Bay is, Jones would prefer to keep that private. Though we could potentially speculate on what that beef is, Jones is the latest Rodgers ally to say that he will be attending Packers training camp this year.

This is the time of the offseason where it is starting to feel increasingly likely that Rodgers will swallow his pride and return to Green Bay for one last season. He can get out of his current contract after the 2021 season and become a free agent.

This falls right in line with the Packers looking to transition to former first-round pick Jordan Love at quarterback.

If you want to read between the lines, what Jones may be hinting at is the Packers’ front office, or organization for that matter, not being overly willing to retain “glue guys” on the roster. This would encapsulate the Packers moving off wide receivers Jake Kumerow and Jordy Nelson previously, as well as his former quarterbacks coach Alex Van Pelt. Again, every action has a consequence.

With Jones saying Rodgers will be at Packers camp, fans will have to hope he’s right or this soap opera could get ugly.
