The Packers are always going to score points with Rodgers at the helm. Green Bay does need their defense to improve if they want to compete with the likes of the Chiefs for a Super Bowl title in 2021. A big part of that effort needs to be improving their pass rush.

That’s why Gary’s development might be the biggest storyline people in Green Bay aren’t talking about enough at the moment. The 2019 first-rounder has always flashed big-time talent, but he hasn’t played with enough consistency as a pro.

His five sacks in 2020 was an improvement over his disappointing rookie campaign, but the Packers need him to emerge as a double-digit sack artist moving forward. He will certainly get plenty of chances to rush the passer from his outside linebacker spot this year.

It’s a bit too early to call this a make-or-break season for Gary, but the Packers really need to see significant growth if they’re going to count on him as a part of their nucleus moving forward. Hitting the magical 10-sack mark would really increase the effectiveness of the Green Bay defense. It might be enough to get this team to the promised land.
