3 Utah Jazz players who won’t be back next season
By Scott Rogust
2. Ersan Ilyasova
We now move onto one of the six impending free agents in forward Ersan Ilyasova. The big man spent the previous two seasons with the Milwaukee Bucks until he was waived by the team this past November following the failed sign-and-trade that would have landed them Bogdan Bogdanovic. It took him until March to find a new team in the Jazz.
Ilyasova only played 17 regular-season games with Utah, mostly as a forward option off the bench. In those appearances, Ilyasova averaged 3.8 points and 1.7 rebounds in 8.7 minutes per game while shooting 38.9 percent from the field and 43.9 percent from 3-point range.
Once the playoffs began, Ilyasova only made one appearance with the Jazz. That came in Game 3 of the Western Conference semifinals against the Clippers, where he scored 4 points while shooting 1-for-2 from the field and 2-for-2 from the free-throw line.
Given that Ilyasova was buried down the depth chart anyway, the Jazz would be best suited to find another forward depth option this offseason.
