NBA fans have made things clear that they want veteran sharpshooter Carmelo Anthony to help Team USA at the 2021 Olympics.

Could we see Portland Trail Blazers stud Carmelo Anthony suit up for Team USA in Tokyo later this summer at the Olympics? The veteran forward of course is no stranger to representing his country.

Now, though, it’s up in the air if he’ll get another opportunity to make plays going up against some of the best players in the world overseas. If you ask NBA Twitter, though, there’s no reason Anthony shouldn’t be on the hardwood for the American side.

Carmelo Anthony won’t make the 2021 Olympics roster but fans won’t stop advocating for him

As we mentioned above, Anthony has plenty of experience at the Olympics. He made his debut at the 2004 games in Athens, helping the U.S. to a bronze medal. After that, Anthony has helped the Americans win three consecutive gold medals at the Olympics.

Now, the team is hoping to win its fourth consecutive gold. The current roster is absolutely loaded, with James Harden, Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, Jayson Tatum, Damian Lillard and Bradley Beal headlining the 11 NBA superstars that have committed to playing. One spot remains, but it likely won’t go to Anthony.

As you might have been able to guess, Team USA is considered the favorite to take down the rest of the field in Tokyo down the road. Should they get the job done, winning a fourth-straight gold would be an unbelievable accomplishment.
