Mecole Hardman joins other Chiefs players saying 20-0 is the goal
By John Buhler
Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Mecole Hardman says the 2021 team can go 20-0 this season.
Mecole Hardman is the latest member of the Kansas City Chiefs to say his team can go a perfect 20-0 next NFL season.
Going 20-0 would signify the Chiefs went 17-0 during the expanded regular season. They will have earned the No. 1 seed in the AFC. After winning the AFC Divisional round game at home and the 2021 AFC Championship, the Chiefs would need to beat the NFC champion in Super Bowl 56 in Los Angeles to do the impossible. Hardman is a believer in this, but can the Chiefs really do it?
Here is what the Chiefs wide receiver said on The NFL Network about potentially going 20-0.

Mecole Hardman is all aboard the Kansas City Chiefs going 20-0 hype train
If the Chiefs or anybody goes 20-0, this will be the greatest single-season team in NFL history. While the Chiefs have a loaded roster, they are not going 20-0 because nobody is, and nobody probably ever will. The last team to go undefeated was the 1972 Miami Dolphins, and they only played a 14-game regular season. The 2007 New England Patriots won 18 in a row before losing.
Can Kansas City get the top seed in the AFC again, get back to the Super Bowl and hoist a Lombardi Trophy for the second time in three years? Absolutely, and you would not be crazy to think that could happen. However, to think they are going 20-0 is patently absurd. The margin for victory in most NFL games are single digits. Elite teams like the Chiefs still slip up on occasion.
Trying to speak 20-0 into existence in late June begins puts an unnecessary target on your back.
