Wander Franco’s dad watching son’s first home run hits you right in the feels.
The MLB’s best prospect, Wander Franco, was called up to the Tampa Bay Rays this week and it didn’t take long for him to prove why he’s one of the most talked about newcomers this season. In his first start with the team on Tuesday he hit a home run in front of his biggest fan … his dad.
The moment was all captured on video, a cherished memory that will last a lifetime and we dare you not to tear up watching it.

The 20-year-old opened the team’s series with the Boston Red Sox and at press time, were tied. Before heading to the Rays, Franco was playing Triple-A this season and was batting .323/.376/.601 with seven home runs, 35 RBI and five stolen bases for Durham. Needless to say, he’s a welcome addition to the Rays rotation.
We’re excited to see where this young player’s career goes from here, but if Tuesday’s appearance is any indication, he’s going straight to the top.
