Celtic figure to be busy this summer during the transfer window and it looks like they’re eyeing Scottish left-back Aaron Hickey.

While the majority of the talk around the upcoming summer transfer window is already focused on the English Premier League, don’t forget about things all over Europe as well. In this case, our focus is on the Scottish Premiership and powerhouse Celtic FC.

The club, which saw Rangers FC win the league title this past season, is going to be working around the clock to try and improve the roster. Per journalist Nicolo Schira, the club has already put an offer on the table for Scottish left-back Aaron Hickey.

Aaron Hickey is drawing early attention from Celtic FC and others

Hickey just wrapped up the season with Italy’s Bologna. However, the expectation is that he’ll draw plenty of attention from clubs in the coming months, with Celtic FC eyeing to bring him back to his native Scotland.

After winning the league title in 2019-20 during the shortened COVID-19 campaign, Celtic FC couldn’t live up to the hype last season and fans were heartbroken to see Rangers FC lift the trophy high into the sky. There’s no denying the Celtic FC defense struggled throughout the year, with no steady player making an impact at left-back.

That’s certainly where Hickey could step in. Despite only being 19 years old, the youngster has turned heads in Europe because of his strong play. With his speed, he closes in on wingers and strikers at an impressive pace, which is something the Celtic FC higher-ups certainly are a fan of.

With Celtic desperately needing defensive reinforcements, a Hickey signing sure makes sense. Now, we must wait to see if the offer is accepted or not.
