A brawl took place in the lower bowl of Amalie Arena during Game 7 between the Tampa Bay Lightning and New York Islanders on Friday.

The 2021 Stanley Cup Final will take place this upcoming Monday, and we know that the Montreal Canadiens will be participating thanks to their Game 6 victory in overtime against the Vegas Golden Knights. The Canadiens had to wait for their opponents, as the Tampa Bay Lightning hosted the New York Islanders for Game 7 on Friday night.

Fans of both teams had to be tense considering it was a win-or-go-home contest, but a group of individuals inside Amalie Arena took things a bit too far. And by that, we mean that some fans decided to throw hands in the lower bowl seats in front of the play during the third period.

A fight takes place in the front row during Game 7 between Lightning-Islanders

As the tweet from Timothy Burke says, those individuals paid a lot of coin for front-row tickets, only to engage in their own brawl in the stands. Those fans were likely thrown out of the arena due to their actions, and they missed the end result of Game 7.

The Lightning, the defending Stanley Cup champions, defeated the Islanders 1-0 to advance to the Final for the second consecutive year. All the Lightning needed was a goal by Yanni Gourde in the second period, and their defense did the rest by limiting the Islanders to 18 shots on goal.

Let’s hope there won’t be a brawl during the Stanley Cup Final, which is set to be an exciting matchup between the juggernaut Lightning and the underdog Canadiens.
