New York Mets fans grieve with Marcus Stroman who just lost his grandmother on Friday.

The New York Mets fanbase show its support on Twitter of starting pitcher Marcus Stroman, who lost his grandmother on Friday.

Stroman shared three messages on Twitter Friday afternoon to let everyone know he is in mourning after losing the special woman in his life, affectionately known as Mamá. While some Mets fans were not sure if Stroman was dealing with the loss of his mother or his grandmother, him sharing a photo of his grandmother and posting two additional messages removed all doubt.

2021 marks Stroman’s first full season in Mets uniform. He was traded over from the Toronto Blue Jays midseason in 2019. Stroman opted out of the 2020 MLB season due to COVID-19 concerns. He is 6-5 on the season with a 2.32 ERA and a 1.055 WHIP in 15 starts for the Mets. Stroman has struck out 75 batters in 85.1 innings pitched, while walking only 21 hitters.

Whether it was new Mets owner Steve Cohen or the Mets official Twitter account, it seems as though all of Mets Twitter is behind Stroman in these trying times. Our condolences go out to Stroman and his family.
