Gervonta Davis looked like a pound-for-pound talent with a TKO victory over the previously undefeated Mario Barrios on Showtime pay-per-view.

Some wondered how boxer Gervonta Davis would look moving up to super lightweight. The answer is phenomenal.

Davis challenged WBA “regular” super lightweight champ Mario Barrios on Saturday, June 26, on Showtime pay-per-view, and decisively beat up the larger Barrios. Davis dropped Barrios three times as he won the bout by TKO in round 11.

Davis (25-0, 24 KOs) currently holds titles in three divisions with his latest win over Barrios. He will likely vacate his super featherweight belt, but which division will Davis focus on in the future? Or does he decided to wage war in multiple divisions at the same time?

After his destruction of Barrios, it looks like Davis can do as he pleases.

Barrios (26-1, 17 KOs) was undefeated coming into his matchup with Davis, but Davis proved too strong and too skilled. Barrios survived a series of knockdowns, but a person can only take so much.

From round 5 on, Davis controlled the fight. Little by little, Davis connected more and more to Barrios’s head and body.

In round 8, Davis dropped Barrios twice. The second knockdown came from a hard Davis left hook to Barrios’s head. Somehow, Barrios was able to get up and fight on.

Barrios was hurt again in round 10, but a left uppercut to the body dropped Barrios in round 11. He got up but turned his back in pain after taking more punishment to the body, and the referee stopped the fight.

Davis celebrated his victory with a backflip off the top rope, and he stuck the landing.

Davis has several options after his win over Barrios. He has yet to be hurt in a fight and looks invincible from super featherweight to super lightweight. If you missed the pay-per-view event, you can see the replay on July 3. Showtime will show the fight as part of their July 3 telecast featuring Chris Colbert vs. Tugstsogt Nyambayar at 9 p.m. ET.
