The Ohio State Buckeyes have put the cherry on top for its 2021 recruiting class, as J.T. Tuimoloau just announced his commitment to the program.

Just when you thought things couldn’t get any better for the Ohio State Buckeyes leading up to the 2021 campaign, Ryan Day and his coaching staff have come out on top of a monster recruiting battle. Moments ago, 5-star defensive end Tuimoloau announced live on CBS that he’s committed to the school.

Tuimoloau is ranked the No. 1 overall player in the country for ’21 according to the 247Sports Composite. Now, he’s ready to take his talents from Sammamish, Wash. to Columbus.

Landing J.T. Tuimoloau is a monster get for Ryan Day and the Ohio State Buckeys

Checking in at 6-foot-5, 280 pounds, Tuimoloau is already a huge player. Imagine how much bigger he’ll get under a college nutrition/workout plan. The stud recruit had a Top 5 of Ohio State, Alabama, Washington, Oregon and USC.

He took official visits to all those schools, but canceled his trip to Tuscaloosa at the last minute. While Huskies fans were hoping he’d stay close to home, Ohio State was the clear favorite to sign him for a while now. Defensive line coach Larry Johnson gets a major assist for helping Ohio State come out on top too.

“Coach Johnson, man, that guy is very smart, he really knows what he’s doing,” Tuimoloau told 247’s Brandon Huffman. “Talking to him in person, you just know, he knows what he’s doing. You can see it, how he’s producing. It’s kind of hard to put it in words, but he’s the kind of get who gets you there to where you want to be.

“He talks with you about all of the little things, he sees things you don’t see and breaks them down. There is a reason why you see a lot of his players in the league making a name for themselves. That guy is just real.”

Ohio State finished with the No. 2 class in the nation for 2021. Down the road, fans are hoping Tuimoloau can help the team win a national championship or two. He sure has what it takes to be a program-changer for the Buckeyes.
