Former Broncos quarterback thinks team must trade for Aaron Rodgers
Former Broncos quarterback Jake Plummer thinks Aaron Rodgers would instantly turn Denver into a championship contender if the team traded for him.
Most NFL teams would use a quarterback like Aaron Rodgers.
For the Denver Broncos, landing Rodgers from the Packers could net a Super Bowl, according to former quarterback Jake Plummer.
While promoting his upcoming film, Kick, Plummer told Jon Heath of Broncos Wire that Rodgers would make that kind of difference instantly.
“He’s brilliant,” Plummer said. “He has a photographic memory, I’m sure he could look through the playbook and have it down in a couple days. So if he could fall into that organization, I just think his talent and his abilities take a pretty talented guy who’s just kind of been mediocre because he’s never had that motivation or taste to now go, ‘Holy [expletive], we could really win this.'”
Jake Plummer thinks Aaron Rodgers could take the Broncos to the top
The Broncos have had success bringing in a superstar quarterback in the past. They won a Super Bowl after adding Peyton Manning.
Rodgers could do the same thing.
“He’ll pick up his game and spend the extra time he needs to spend to get better to raise the bar of everybody around him,” Plummer said. “Kind of like Peyton did when he came here.”
Specifically, Plummer highlighted the Broncos receiving corps. Rodgers has managed to build an incredible offense in Green Bay while elevating a cast of pass-catchers that isn’t exactly loaded with stars.
Denver has an exciting young star in Jerry Jeudy with former Pro Bowler Courtland Sutton due back from a season-ending knee injury.
Of course, Plummer doesn’t get to decide where Rodgers lands.
“If he became a Bronco, you know, good for that organization, hopefully good for him,” Plummer said. “I just hope he gets a chance to play where he wants to play and it’s set up for his success.”
