After Darly Morey spent more than $4,000 on a Ben Simmons Top Shot, folks on Twitter are losing their minds. 

What’s going to end up happening with Ben Simmons this summer? Ever since the Philadelphia 76ers were eliminated in the playoffs by the Atlanta Hawks, rumors have swirled regarding Simmons’ future in the City of Brotherly Love.

There’s no denying the standout player struggled immensely in the postseason, with fans calling for him to be traded. Well, Daryl Morey may have just put the kibosh on all those rumors thanks to his latest investment.

Did Morey just end all the trade rumors thanks to his latest purchase? That’s what folks on Twitter sure believe. Why would he buy this Top Shot of Simmons if he’s going to actively pursue sending him to a new team this summer?

At the same time, others have the theory that Morey is just showing love to the young player right now, and he still could end up getting shipped in the coming months. Who knows?

For Simmons, he’ll of course be motivated to have a big year for Philly if he does end up returning to the team. The 2020-21 campaign really couldn’t have ended worse for him. It was so bad, even multiple 76ers players didn’t hesitate in calling him out a bit.

That obviously didn’t sit well with Simmons. Looking forward, he’ll need to step his game up in the playoffs if he wants to earn the love and trust back of Philadelphia fans in the late spring. Otherwise, trade rumors will only continue to fly in for him and the team. That is, unless Morey keeps dropping thousands of dollars for his stuff.
