Shannon Sharpe is the latest sports analyst to take a shot at Los Angeles Lakers forward Kyle Kuzma, suggesting he’d trade him for J. Cole.

Kyle Kuzma is having a strange offseason. He’s involved in just about every NBA trade rumor you’ve heard, and now, Shannon Sharpe told a national audience he’d rather see J. Cole playing for the Los Angeles Lakers. In fact, he’d settle for a nice new pair of shoes in exchange for the 25-year-old NBA Champion.

“Hell, I’d trade Kyle Kuzma for J. Cole, a Nat King Cole album, or a pair of Cole Haan shoes,” Sharpe said on FS1’s Undisputed.

Of course, he then doubled down with a follow-up Twitter post implying Kuzma gets “spoon-fed” by LeBron James.

Sharpe also referred to Kuzma as “idiotic” when suggesting the Lakers should try to trade him for DeMar DeRozan. Now, we won’t make any excuses for Kuzma’s poor playoff performance this past season. However, it’s worth pointing out DeRozan has historically been pretty underwhelming in the playoffs too.

As a former pro football tight end, Sharpe isn’t necessarily an NBA guy, so we’re taking his basketball opinions with a grain of salt. But you know your trade value has dipped when someone suggests they’d trade you for a pair of $200 shoes.

At this rate, it’s going to be a long offseason for Kuzma. He had a decent regular season, posting averages of 12.9 points, 6.1 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game. Come playoff time, his production dropped off dramatically and he shot just 29.2 percent from the floor. Since then, all kinds of rumors have surfaced, including that Kuzma doesn’t get along well with LeBron.

A growing number of analysts and fans alike believe Kuzma will be wearing a different jersey next season. But J. Cole suiting up for the Lakers?! Only in a music video.
