Hell has frozen over, as Skip Bayless actually said something nice about LeBron James for once.

All it took was Game 1 of the 2021 NBA Finals for FS1’s Skip Bayless to say something positive about Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James.

With two teams in unfamiliar territory playing for a league championship in the Milwaukee Bucks and the Phoenix Suns, it did not take long for Bayless to admit he actually missed James. This is only the second time in a decade that James has not played in the NBA Finals. His Lakers fell to the division rival Suns in six games during the first round of the 2021 Western Conference Playoffs.

Has Bayless turned a new leaf into being a card-carrying member for Team LeBron going forward?

It was very out of character for Bayless to say he missed James. While many people have actually enjoyed the NBA Playoffs without King James being involved in most of it, it has to be hard for a sports talk show host to not have the most polarizing player in the game to dissect every morning Monday through Friday. Why ever consider discussing Devin Booker or Giannis Antetokounmpo?

With the Suns taking Game 1 on Tuesday night, they are three wins away from their first NBA championship in franchise history. Should Milwaukee take four of the next six, it would be their second championship and their first since Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Oscar Robertson helped the expansion-era Bucks win the 1971 NBA Finals. Yes, it has been that long for the Bucks franchise.

Look for either Antetokounmpo or Booker to hoist the Larry O’Brien Trophy instead of King James.
