Top 100 cornerback Trequon Fegans dropped his Top 5 schools with SEC powers Alabama and Georgia among the favorites for his signature.

The battle for Trequon Fegans is heating up as the four-star cornerback trimmed his options down to five.

Fegans listed a Top 5 on Twitter on Wednesday, including Alabama, Georgia, Miami, Oklahoma and South Carolina.

For those five contenders, it’ll be full speed ahead trying to get the 6-foot-2, 180-pound prospect signed in the class of 2022.

The 247Sports composite ranks Fegans No. 77 overall in the recruiting class. He is No. 10 at cornerback.

Alabama and Georgia are battling, along with others, for Trequon Fegans

Charles Power described Fegans as a “hyper-aggressive press corner” with the ability to become a multi-year starter and an early-round NFL draft pick. With his length and athleticism, it’s simple to see why he’s a coveted prospect.

Alabama has the home state advantage with Fegans. He plays for Oxford High School in Alabama, logging five interceptions all returned for touchdowns as a sophomore in 2019. He camped with Alabama at the start of June.

The Crimson Tide don’t have any cornerbacks committed for the class of 2022 yet, though four-star athlete Antonio Kite could end up playing the position.

Georgia has one highly-rated cornerback already on board. Marquis Groves-Killebrew, ranked No. 11 among CBs in the 247Sports composite, committed last year. If they added Fegans, they’d boast two Top 100 corner prospects in their class.

Of course, South Carolina, Miami and Oklahoma hope to challenge the Bulldogs and Tide for Fegans. He officially visited the Hurricanes and Gamecocks in June. Oklahoma and the rest are still waiting to get him on campus for an official visit of their own.
