Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Christian Yelich got ejected during Saturday’s game against the Cincinnati Reds after going off on first-plate umpire John Libka.
It is not often you see Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Christian Yelich get ejected from a game, but that was the case on Saturday when he played against the Cincinnati Reds. However, it happened due to a bad call from first-place umpire John Libka.
Milwaukee Brewers: Christian Yelich furious at umpire
During the game, Yelich bunted to Reds pitcher Vladimir Gutierrez and ran through first base on a wild throw to Joey Votto. Even though Yelich did not make an attempt to go to second base, Cincinnati infielder Jonathan India tagged him and Libka called him out. That caused Yelich to go off on Libka, where he dropped multiple f-bombs, leading to his ejection.
You rarely see Yelich and to be held back, but that was exactly the case on Saturday, as first base coach Quintin Berry had to hold the star outfielder back. You can expect Yelich will explain his side of the story during the postgame press conference.
