The 2021 MLB Draft will take place from Sunday, July 11 until Tuesday, July 13. 

The MLB Draft doesn’t get nearly as much flare as the NBA Draft or NFL Draft, but it’s still the best showcase of young baseball talent around. Come Sunday, the likes of Marcelo Mayer, Jack Leiter and Kumar Rocker will find out where they’ll spend the beginning of their professional careers.

Mayer appears to be the likely top selection, going to the Pittsburgh Pirates. Beyond that, the Draft is as wide open as ever. Leiter and Rocker led Vanderbilt to the College World Series final this season, forming one of the best 1-2 pitching duos in collegiate history. Jordan Lawler and Brady House are tremendous high school shortstop prospects, rivaling the likes of Mayer.

When is the MLB Draft?

The Draft takes place across the All-Star Break. While that decision was a curious one from Rob Manfred and Co. given it rivals the likes of the Futures Game, Home Run Derby and All-Star Game, I’m just reporting the facts. Denver will play host.
