New comments from Astros about cheating scandal will infuriate everyone
MLB fans all over the country are not going to like seeing what Houston Astros’ Jose Altuve and Dusty Baker had to say regarding the 2017 sign-stealing scandal.
No one has forgotten about the sign-stealing scandal that rocked MLB thanks to the Houston Astros. Back in 2017, Houston is considered to have cheated its way to a World Series win in 2017, with countless folks refusing to forgive them.
The scandal turned baseball upside down. Jose Altuve won the AL MVP that season and he’s basically banned from New York City, as he won it over Aaron Judge. Now, four years later, the Astros basically think it’s time to move on and forget about what happened. Really?
Dusty Baker is dead wrong if he thinks folks will forget about the Houston Astros scandal
“Sooner or later, we’ve got to get over what happened a couple of years ago,” Baker said via Ken Rosenthal.
While at some point Houston won’t be as hated by so many as they are now, the fact that Baker thinks we should just get over things is a bit comical. Houston was caught red-handed here. They were crowned champs and had everyone looking up to them. They were honored with their parade, but that happened without folks knowing what was going on in the clubhouse.
No one had any idea outside of the players and the coaches. AJ Hinch and Jeff Luhnow ended up getting fired and rightfully so. The players have basically given non-apologies ever since. It’s almost as if they don’t even feel bad about what happened, which is unfortunate.
The Astros are currently in first place of the AL West standings with their 54-36 record. They’re ready to make plenty of noise in the postseason, but let’s just hope they do so the right way this time.
