Denver police stop possible ‘Las Vegas style’ mass shooting planned for MLB All-Star Game

Denver police stopped what is feared to have been a ‘Las Vegas style’ mass shooting at the MLB All-Star Game at Coors Field this week.
A tip from a hotel maid may have stopped what Denver police feared was a ‘Las Vegas style’ mass shooting during the MLB All-Star Game festivities this week.
Police received a tip from a maid at the Maven Hotel, and arrested four people on Friday night while recovering a terrifying amount of guns, body armor, and ammunition.
According to local television station Denver7, police not only found an arsenal of weapons in the hotel room, but did so in one that a vantage point of the All-Star festivities at Coors Field.
"Sources said police removed 16 long guns, body armor and more than 1,000 rounds of ammunition from the room which featured a balcony overlooking the downtown area. The sources said they feared the number of weapons, ammo, vantage point and large crowds could have resulted in a “Las Vegas-style shooting.”"
The room features a balcony overlooking the downtown area, near Coors Field, which led police to believe this could be a similar situation to the mass shooting in Las Vegas back in 2017.
Police reportedly arrested one man inside of the hotel room that was raided. A Facebook post from one of the suspects arrested was discovered to have been posted with a message saying he was going to ‘go out in a big way’ following a recent divorce from his spouse.
It’s unclear if this was posted by the man in the room, or if it’s connected to the crime that is being investigated.
MLB has not yet commented on the arrests, but All-Star festivities are still being planned to go off without a hitch. The Home Run Derby remains scheduled for Monday night, with the All-Star Game scheduled to take place on Tuesday.
