Lakers: LeBron James wants to end his career in Los Angeles

This is certainly welcome news for Lakers fans, as one of the greatest players in NBA history wants to finish out his career with their favorite team. Sorry to the other teams in the league, because it sounds as though James has no desire to play with any organization not named the Lakers.

Back in 2018, after spending four years in his second stint with the Cleveland Cavaliers, James signed a four-year, $153.3 million contract with the Lakers. James originally had a player option for this upcoming season, but that was voided after he signed a two-year, $85.7 million extension.

While James’ first season in Los Angeles did not result in a playoff berth, the Lakers bounced back the following year after they acquired Anthony Davis from the New Orleans Pelicans to create a power duo. The move paid off, as the Lakers defeated the Miami Heat, James’ former team, in six games inside the Orlando bubble.

The Lakers attempted to run it back this past season, but the Suns and the injuries that piled up were just too much for the team to overcome. James was limited to 45 games this past season due to a high ankle sprain. In those contests, the Lakers star averaged 25.0 points, 7.8 assists and 7.7 rebounds per game while shooting 51.3 percent from the field and 36.5 percent from the 3-point line.

Regardless of how much longer James plays in the NBA, he wants to spend the remainder of his career playing for and winning championships for the Lakers.

Suns’ ability to bounce back faces its greatest test yet in Game 4 of NBA Finals. dark. Next
