After a hard fought season and an even crazier playoffs, a champion has been crowned by who won the NBA Finals 2021?

It took an absolutely iconic performance from Giannis Antetokounmpo, the Milwaukee Bucks have brought the Larry O’Brien trophy home.

For the first time in 50 years, the Bucks are celebrating a title and the city of Milwaukee is celebrating a championship. The Green Bay Packers brought home a Super Bowl in 2010, but that celebration was confined to the community around Lambeau.

Who won NBA Finals 2021?

The Milwaukee Bucks erased an early deficit in the series to claim its second title in the franchise’s history.

After leaping out to a 2-0 series lead, the Phoenix Suns imploded. Once the series shifted back to Milwaukee the wheels started to come off in a big way for Phoenix, and Giannis had two incredible moments in the games ahead that would come to define the series.

The first was his block in Game 4 that helped the Bucks literally thwart a comeback attempt by the Suns. In the following game, Jrue Holiday picked Devin Booker’s pocket and threw up an alley-oop to Giannis that daggered the Suns and gave the Bucks what ended up being a 3-2 series lead that would lead to an NBA Finals win.

Game 6 wasn’t an easy feat for the Bucks to conquer, but the momentum had already swung completely in the way of Milwaukee after the iconic plays by Giannis. That Herculean performance continued in the finals game of the series, with the Greek Freak scoring 50 points and shattering both the Suns hopes and the ceiling placed above players drafted into small markets who are told they can’t win unless they leave for a larger market.
