3 Milwaukee Bucks players who won’t be back next season
Despite being crowned NBA champions and their contributions to the Milwaukee Bucks this season, these three players won’t be back next season.
Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks did it the hard way — no superteam, but building a championship team around one star player in the Greek Freak. The perseverance paid off, as they won the NBA championship for the 2020-21 season. Although they’ll be celebrating for the coming weeks, decisions must be made about the team’s roster next season.
The team has so much money tied into Antetokounmpo, Khris Middleton and Jrue Holiday’s contracts that they’ll be bargain-shopping in free agency. Unfortunately, the money absorbed by Milwaukee’s trio also makes it hard for them to retain their talent. So here are three Bucks players who probably won’t be back for the 2021-22 season.
3. Justin Jackson
Justin Jackson is one of the many impending free agents on Milwaukee’s roster. However, don’t expect the team to bend over backward to keep him. He wasn’t a huge part of their rotation, only playing in one game the entire season. Because of his lack of a role on the team, his time with the Bucks is probably over.
He will be a restricted free agent, but it is unlikely Milwaukee will match any offer he gets from other teams. He didn’t do much, and bringing him back would be wasting a roster spot they could use for someone better. There’s just no fit for Jackson on the Bucks, but at least he was able to be a part of a championship team.
