Massive recruiting news has come in for Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs, as 4-star running back Branson Robinson just committed.

Another day, another big-time get out on the recruiting trail for Georgia head coach Kirby Smart? You better believe it. With 4-star running back Branson Robinson down to the Bulldogs, Alabama and Tennessee, everyone knew he’d be playing his ball in the SEC.

Georgia fans were hoping, however, that he’d be moving from Madison, Miss. to Athens. Well, that’s going to be the case, as Robinson just announced lived on CBS that he has committed to Georgia to play his college ball for Smart.

Branson Robinson has committed to Georgia over Alabama and Tennessee

Robinson took his official visit to Georgia on June 4 and it made quite the impact on him. So much in fact, he’ll now be making the UGA campus his permanent home come the 2022 season. Throughout his recruitment, the 5-foot-10, 220-pounder picked up 15 offers.

At the end of the day, though, the opportunity to play for Smart and the Bulldogs was too much to pass up on. Robinson is ranked four stars and the No. 4 running back in the country per the 247Sports Composite. He’s also the No. 46 player overall in the country and No. 1 prospect from Mississippi for his class.

For Georgia, the team is now up to 12 verbal pledges for ’22. The haul is of course highlighted by 5-star linebacker Malaki Starks, while there’s 10 4-star players on the list and one 3-star player. As things stand, Georgia and Smart hold the No. 6 recruiting class in the country and No. 2 in the SEC.

With so much time until the winter arrives, you know the Bulldogs will keep working overtime to try and finish the year with the No. 1 spot. They sure aren’t strangers to that.
