YES Network play-by-play commentator Michael Kay revealed the differences between a New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox crowd.

When it comes to must-watch television in baseball, it is always “The Rivalry” between the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox. After the Red Sox took the first six games of the season, the Yankees have won two-of-three in last weekend’s series. But on Thursday night, the two AL East squads began their four-game set heading into the weekend.

During the game, YES Network play-by-play commentator Michael Kay brought up the major differences between the Red Sox and Yankees faithful when speaking to players who suited up for Boston. The point he brought up was that the Boston fans are quiet when they are losing but cheer when the team gets back in the game. As for New York fans, they get loud when the team is down to try and rile the up.

The Red Sox were down 1-0 from the top of the fourth inning up until the bottom of the seventh after a sacrifice fly by Enrique Hernandez to bring home Alex Verdugo to tie things up. Unfortunately for the crowd at Fenway Park, the Yankees retook the lead in the top of the eighth on an RBI single by Giancarlo Stanton and a sacrifice fly by Gleyber Torres.
