Recruiting: 4-star DL Christen Miller pits Georgia against power trio in Top 4

Four-star defensive lineman Christen Miller could stay home with Georgia or branch out with Ohio State, Oregon or USC in his Top 4.

The recruiting battle for Christen Miller is down to four.

On Tuesday, the four-star defensive lineman from Georgia named the Bulldogs among his final schools along with Ohio State, Oregon and USC.

It’s a home state favorite against powers from the Big Ten and Pac-12.

Miller ranks No. 119 in the 247Sports composite for the class of 2022. At 6-foot-4, 285 pounds, he’s the 20th-ranked defensive lineman available.

While Georgia clearly has the home state advantage, there are indications Miller is more likely to head out west. The 247Sports Crystal Ball favors USC with 75 percent of predictions.

The Trojans already made a statement snagging a commitment from five-star defensive lineman Mykel Williams from Columbus, Georgia. Williams and Miller could form a Peach State duo in the trenches for USC.

The Bulldogs have a Top 10 recruiting class for 2022, including four-star defensive lineman Tyre West, who is staying home in Georgia despite what his namesake might suggest.

Ohio State still has a chance to throw a wrench in things. Ryan Day and his staff have put together the No. 1 class in the nation so far, but that impressive haul doesn’t include any defensive linemen. Miller would be a welcome addition.

Oregon has a couple of defensive linemen committed for 2022, but Miller outranks both of those. The Ducks appear to have an uphill climb, but there’s a reason they have the top-ranked class in the Pac-12. Mario Cristobal and his crew have proven they can recruit.
