Albert Pujols hits 2-run HR in place of injured Justin Turner (Video)
The Dodgers caught some bad luck with Justin Turner going out injured, but Albert Pujols softened the blow with a two-run homer as a pinch hitter.
There’s good news and bad news for Dodgers fans.
The bad news is Justin Turner appears to have picked up an injury.
The good news is that Albert Pujols acquisition continues to yield big dividends.
On Sunday against the Angels, Pujols smashed a two-run home run 418 feet after taking over for Turner as a pinch hitter.

The former Angel increased the Dodgers’ lead over his ex-team, 5-0, with that blast.
Albert Pujols went yard in place of injured Justin Turner
Pujols was called into action because Turner had to come out of the game injured shortly after making this play at third base for the first out of the second inning.
Turner was having a strong outing before leaving. He drove in Muncy in the first inning to give LA their second run of the day. The extent of his injury hasn’t been announced.
At the top of the third, Pujols took over at first base and Max Muncy moved over to third.
This is Pujols’ third appearance against the Angels since moving to the blue side of Los Angeles. He had an RBI in the first game of the series with two hits in seven plate appearances so far.
The change of uniform has done Pujols well. He’s batting .264/.305/.451, an improvement across the board from his performance in Anaheim.
Even though he’s helping the Dodgers, letting Pujols go hasn’t been the Angels’ problem. Jared Walsh has been an outstanding first baseman, but their injury issues aren’t lessening. Walsh is currently on the 10-day injured list.
The Angels opened the freeway series with an extra-innings victory over the Dodgers on Friday. The Dodgers responded on Saturday with a 5-3 win thanks to eighth-inning heroics from Chris Taylor.
