Former boxing champion Robert Easter Jr. on the run after being accused of assaulting a woman in Ohio

Robert Easter Jr. is a wanted man after a Toledo, OH. woman was allegedly badly beaten and bloodied.

Robert Easter Jr., the former IBF lightweight champion is reportedly on the run after he allegedly knocked a woman unconscious near his home in Toledo, OH.

According to multiple reports, Easter is wanted by the Toledo Police Department after a woman accused him of punching her in the face early Saturday morning. The unidentified victim alleges that Easter caused her to lose consciousness due to the hard blow to the face, which left her with a split lip and a chipped tooth as a result of the altercation. The current condition of the alleged assault victim is unknown at this time.

Easter has been charged with simple assault, a first-degree misdemeanor in the state of Ohio for the incident. Police remain vigilant in locating Easter and hope to have him in custody soon.

The 30-year-old Easter held the IBF lightweight title from 2016 to 2018, and most recently fought in February against Ryan Martin, earning a unanimous decision win. He lost the IBF lightweight title to Mikey Garcia in July 2018.

Robert Easter Jr. is accused of knocking a woman out unconscious

Before his loss to Garcia, Easter had been one of the most dominant boxers in the world with at one point a 21-0 record in the ring.

Just hours after the charges were announced by local police, Easter posted a brief message on his Facebook page regarding a party being held at nearby Tommie’s Sports Bar and Grille, a bar in which he is a co-owner.

Easter’s whereabouts are unknown at this time and family members of the victim have yet to comment on the incident. Easter has been a professional boxer since 2013 and has no recorded criminal history.
