PSG announces Lionel Messi signing with awesome video

The Lionel Messi to Paris Saint-Germain move is finally official and the Ligue 1 giants announced things with an awesome video. 

Just a day after Lionel Messi was in Barcelona wiping away tears while saying goodbye to the club he loves so much, he has already found a new home. On Tuesday morning, Messi flew from Catalonia to Paris and has officially signed a two-year contract with Paris Saint-Germain.

Messi, arguably the best player to ever hit the soccer pitch, will now join forces with Kylian Mbappe, Neymar Jr. and others for PSG this season. The Ligue 1 powerhouse just announced things on Twitter, doing so with an unreal video.

PSG took to Twitter to announce the Lionel Messi signing and Twitter is going nuts

If you’re a PSG fan, you’ve simply got to be fired up watching that clip. Messi is coming off a huge summer. After winning the Copa America with Argentina, beating Brazil in the final, Messi finally won his first international trophy with his home country.

The expectation was that he’d return to Barcelona after the two sides came to an agreement earlier this year. However, due to La Liga rules, that deal fell through at the last minute and Messi wasn’t able to put the pen to paper on his contract.

It was devastating for Messi and every single Barcelona fan, as he’s meant so much to the senior club for the past 17 years. Now, however, Messi will do whatever is needed to try and help PSG be serious players in the Champions League. The club made it to the final two years ago, suffering a loss to the mighty Bayern Munich.

With Messi now on the pitch for PSG, they should be considered among the favorites to lift the cup high into the sky this upcoming season.
