Concerning news has arrived for the Baltimore Ravens, as first-round pick Rashod Bateman injured himself during practice and limped back to the locker room.

Big things are expected of Baltimore Ravens first-round pick Rashod Bateman, but the rookie wide receiver is already dealing with adversity in camp. On Tuesday, the speedster was lined up against Marcus Peters, hoping to make something happen for the offense.

Instead, Bateman pulled up after injuring himself and he immediately fell to the turf. He wasn’t able to continue in the session either, as he walked gingerly to the locker room. While the extent of his injury is still up in the air, this is a big-time concern for head coach John Harbaugh.

Rookie wide receiver Rashod Bateman suffered a concerning injury at practice

Out of Minnesota, Bateman opted out of the 2020 season, but he was still impressive enough at his Pro Day and other pre-draft events to have the Ravens take him at No. 27 overall in this year’s draft.

With his speed and great hands, the 6-foot-1, 210-pounder figures to make an immediate impact once Week 1 rolls around. With that said, things really didn’t look good for him on Tuesday, as Bateman appears to be dealing with a groin injury.

As excited as fans are for Bateman to put on a show this season, Baltimore will of course want to be extremely careful with him moving forward and not rush him back. If things are serious enough, we may not end up seeing Bateman take the field for the start of the season.

This will obviously be a situation to monitor moving forward. For Harbaugh, you better believe he’s hoping he can get the first-year playmaker back in action sooner than later this fall.
