Ernie Johnson’s powerful message to the Alabama football team will bring you to tears.

Turner Sports’ Ernie Johnson gave the Alabama football program an incredibly powerful message.

Johnson, who is best known for being the host of TNT’s Inside the NBA, spoke to Nick Saban’s football program about how everybody can make an impact, no matter your role with the team. He gave a first-hand example of how his adopted Romanian son Michael impacted the lives of his high school basketball team in Braselton, Georgia. Johnson’s powerful message will make you cry.

Here is what Johnson told the Alabama football program about Michael’s legacy at Mill Creek.

The Johnsons adopted a Romanian toddler in the early 1990s, one who had a myriad of health issues. Michael did not talk until he was eight-years-old and was diagnosed with muscular dystrophy in his youth, a disease where most kids do not make it out of their teens. While his communication is a bit limited, Michael taught everyone at Mill Creek how to love each other.

He may not have played a minute on the high school basketball team, but he was there to show his teammates what giving a maximum effort looks like, knowing his role every step of the way. He thought his classmates how to sign ‘love’ in American Sign Language. When his wheelchair rolled across the stage at graduation, all the students flashed the sign that Michael thought them.

If you are not trying to make someone else’s life a better one today, then what are you doing?
