The venue built next to the actual filming location will hold 8,000 fans eager to see Lance Lynn and Andrew Heaney take the mound in throwback uniforms made special for the occasion.

Comiskey Park, the old home of the White Sox, was the inspiration for the dugouts and other features of the Field of Dreams diamond. It’s complete with a cornfield in the outfield.

In the 1989 film, Costner’s character builds the baseball field after hearing the famous line, “If you build it, he will come.”

MLB built this one specifically for this game because the field where the movie was shot wasn’t big enough to accommodate a major league game.

The players and fans will come for the in-person experience. For the rest of the baseball world, images from the live TV broadcast will have to suffice.
