Look: MLB Field of Dreams uniforms for Yankees, White Sox are beautiful throwbacks

The New York Yankees and Chicago White Sox will look great in their Field of Dreams uniforms.

It will be a blast from the past when the New York Yankees take on the Chicago White Sox in the 2021 MLB Field of Dreams game on Thursday night.

Yes, these two American League-contending teams will be playing on national television in primetime on Thursday night in the middle of an Iowa cornfield. Somebody built it so they would come. Not to be outdone by the impressive rural baseball field, the Yankees and the White Sox will be wearing uniforms akin to what they rocked in the early 20th century on the baseball diamond.

While the Yankees have not changed all that much to their iconic uniforms in the last 100 years, there are a few subtle differences to the jerseys that we are used to.

The New York across the front of the visiting jersey is thinner than what we see now and the same thing applies to the numbers on the back.

However, the logo on the ball cap is a tad thicker than what we see today.

And then there is the White Sox. Chicago played an integral role in the Field of Dreams storyline, so their jerseys reflect that of what they used to wear back in 1919. Chicago will be wearing white jerseys with navy blue pinstripes, prominently featuring a large S logo with the O and the X situated in the bends of the curvy capital letter. It will be a very retro feel for the South Siders.
