Chris Sale’s slider is just as filthy as we remembered (Video)

After a long road back from Tommy John Surgery, Chris Sale is back in action on Saturday and he looks like his old self. 

Chris Sale is back on the bump and Boston Red Sox fans couldn’t be more thrilled by that fact. Hearts were broken outside of Fenway Park when it was announced last spring that Sale needed to undergo Tommy John Surgery.

On Saturday, though, Sale is indeed back on the bump taking on the Baltimore Orioles. Sale wasted no time reminding folks to just how filthy his pitches can be, as he delivered a slider that is nearly impossible to hit.

We haven’t seen this kind of filth since the 2019 season from Sale. Be honest, Red Sox supporters, how amazing is it to see the man back in his old form from year’s past?

In 2019, Sale struggled a bit, as he went 6-11 and posted a 4.40 ERA. Before that, Sale was an All-Star seven years in a row, highlighted by his sensational 2017 season where he went 17-8 with a 2.90 ERA. Sale also recorded 308 strikeouts in 214.1 innings of work.

Unfortunately, he suffered his serious elbow injury and had to work his tail off to get back to this point. For skipper Alex Cora, he’s been staying positive over the past few months on Sale, saying he’s been really impressed with how passionate the veteran hurler was on getting back, while also staying patient.

With Boston struggling quite a bit of late, getting a pitcher of Sale’s caliber right now is massive for this team. Look for Sale to close out the campaign with a bang, while also being ready to do his thing in the postseason.
