2. RB Jaylen Samuels

Samuels is used purely as a pass protector on the occasional third down. He had nine carries in 2020, the Steelers rarely use him.

In a running back room that now features Najee Harris and guys like Anthony McFarland, Benny Snell, and Kalen Ballage all competing for the RB2 spot on the depth chart, there is no reason to keep Samuels around, especially when the other four backs provide more talent when it comes to running the ball.

3. DT Isaiah Buggs

If the Steelers do decide to cut a defensive lineman to make way for Schobert, it should be Buggs. Pittsburgh has a crowded room of reserve defensive lineman, and they all seem to bring more to the table.

Henry Mondeaux got an increase in playing time in the second half of 2020, Chris Wormley will get more reps in sub-packages, and rookie Isaiahh Loudermilk looked really good against Philadelphia in the team’s second preseason game. When looking at the room as a whole, Buggs has the least amount to offer, and he could find himself on the chopping block.

Steelers fans beg Najee Harris not to hurdle in preseason games. dark. Next
