The FBI is getting involved in the Deshaun Watson case(s)
According to lawyer Tony Buzbee, the FBI is now investigating Deshaun Watson for the alleged sexual assault allegations against him.
While Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson is trying to get ready for the start of the 2021 campaign, there’s still his off-field legal issues to be aware of. We’re of course talking about the more than 20 women who have come forward and accused him of sexual assault.
Tony Buzbee, the lawyer defending the women who have come forward, spoke with League of Justice in an exclusive interview and said the FBI is now investigating Watson.
Deshaun Watson is now being investigated by the FBI for his sexual assault cases
Per Buzbee, FBI agents visited him first at his office in Houston and then the two sides have met multiple times after that as well.
“Let’s be clear, when somebody comes into your office on the 73rd floor of the Chase Tower, whether they’re the FDA or the FBI, it’s a big deal,” Buzbee said, via League of Justice. “Well, it was the FBI. They contacted me and I’ve met with them three times now and now they’ve met with several of the plaintiffs in the case.”
Buzbee went on to say that he was also put in touch with the Assistant United States Attorney, while FBI agents have also been in contact with multiple women who are accusing Watson of sexual assault.
Watson’s attorney Rusty Hardin was made aware of the news that the FBI was now in on the Watson allegations. To say he was furious would be an understatement.
“I have absolutely no reason to believe that Deshaun is being investigated by the FBI,” Hardin said in the League of Justice piece. “I have absolutely no reason to believe that Mr. Buzbee’s spin is the truth or that it’s anymore accurate than any of the other misstatements he has sponsored. I simply do not believe the FBI is investigating Deshaun.”
Only time will tell what ends up happening with Watson, but if you ask Buzbee, the FBI is taking things quite seriously here.
