Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Vrabel made a joke at Tom Brady’s expense when his son appeared at the Buccaneers’ joint practice.

Mike Vrabel has a sense of humor, apparently.

The Titans head coach used a joint practice between Tennessee and Tampa Bay ahead of their preseason game on Saturday to take a funny jab at former teammate Tom Brady.

When the two met in the middle of the field with Brady’s son, Jack, a photographer gave Vrabel the perfect opportunity.

“Jack Brady talking with his favorite former Patriot,” Vrabel wrote along with a photo of himself, Brady and Jack. “Also pictured Tom Brady.”

Vrabel used a classic punch line in the perfect way. Kudos to him for getting one over on Brady.

Mike Vrabel and Tom Brady won a ton together with the Patriots

Before Vrabel got the head coaching gig with the Titans and Brady took his talents to Tampa, the two were long-time teammates with the Patriots.

After spending the first four seasons of his career in Pittsburgh, Vrabel became a mainstay for the Patriots defense from 2001 to 2008. He was a Pro Bowler in 2017.

New England drafted Brady in 2000, so Vrabel was his teammate for eight of the first nine seasons of his career.

Together, they won three Super Bowls and went to the big game one last time in 2007.

Vrabel retired in 2011 and immediately got a start in coaching. He took over as the head coach in Tennessee in 2018. His Titans beat Brady’s Patriots that first season and repeated the feat in 2019 in the wild card round of the playoffs, handing the quarterback a loss in his final game for New England.

Saturday will be the first Vrabel vs. Brady meeting since he left the Patriots for the Buccaneers. Perhaps fortunately for Brady, considering his record against his former teammate, they won’t play during the regular season.
