Report: Scott Frost, Nebraska football under NCAA investigation

Head coach Scott Frost and the Nebraska football program are under NCAA investigation.
Scott Frost and the Nebraska football program is in hot water, as the Cornhuskers are being investigated by the NCAA “for improper uses of analysts” and holding “unauthorized off-campus workouts” with the approval of the coaching staff in an attempt to avoid detection by school officials.
Brett McMurphy of The Action Network dropped this bombshell on Wednesday morning. These allegations Frost and the Nebraska program face date back to one season ago. Frost put former senior special teams analyst Jonathan Rutledge in charge of the special teams unit, despite being forbidden to have direct contact with the Huskers players. Rutledge was fired back on Jan. 14.
As for the unauthorized off-campus workouts during the middle of a global pandemic, that is not going to fly with the NCAA one bit.

Frost faces immense pressure in his fourth year back leading his alma mater. While he was the quarterback during the glory days under the iconic Tom Osborne, Frost has been unable to lead the Cornhuskers to a bowl game in any of his first three seasons back in Lincoln. Keep in mind that Frost led the AAC’s UCF Knights to an undefeated season back in 2017 out of the Group of Five.
With a fellow Cornhusker icon now serving as Nebraska’s athletic director in Trev Alberts, Frost’s seat just got even hotter. Alberts did not hire him, Nebraska has to make a bowl game this year and the entire program is under NCAA investigation. The last thing the Cornhuskers needed was this, especially if they drop their Week 0 game at Illinois later this month to Bret Bielema’s Illini.
There is a chance Frost could be suspended for a few games by the NCAA if they can prove this.
