2. J.J. Redick
Speaking of veterans, J.J. Redick is the oldest man on this list, but that’s no issue because at 37, he’s still a sharp-shooter who could help a team chase a title.
When you sign Redick, you know what you’re getting. He can come off the bench and drop in 3s. His scoring took a slight dip in 2020-21 and he never really got to show his stuff with the Dallas Mavericks. However, even his 37.1 percent hit rate in a “down year” would be worth bringing him in. He shot 45.3 percent from 3-point range in 2019-20 and should be capable of hitting close to that mark again.
Like Millsap, he brings a serious playoff resume with him. The 2019-20 season was the first time since 2007 he didn’t feature in the postseason. He could have been a factor for the Mavericks in their tight series against the LA Clippers if not for an Achilles injury.
If he wants to keep playing, Redick should find a home with any team looking for scoring off the bench and a veteran presence with playoff experience.
