Clemson and Georgia football fans will have to wear a mask to see their season opener.

If you plan on seeing the Clemson and Georgia football teams play each other on Labor Day Weekend, you will need to pack a mask, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

The Board of Health of Mecklenburg County in Charlotte, North Carolina has mandated that masks will be worn at all times indoors. While Bank of America Stadium is an outdoor football venue, you will still need to wear one to be admitted, as it will be required to wear in and around the concourse. Clemson and Georgia are two of the top five teams in the country entering the season.

Kickoff from Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte will be at 7:30 p.m. ET on Saturday, Sept. 4.

Clemson and Georgia football fans must wear a mask to see the game in-person

This is not only the signature game of the Duke’s Mayo Classic but the best game of the opening weekend in college football. Clemson is favored to come out of the ACC for the seventh straight year to reach the College Football Playoff. While Georgia sits at No. 5 in the country, the Dawgs have the roster and the schedule to potentially win the SEC and get in for the second time ever.

Ultimately, the mask mandate in Mecklenburg County will be much like ones that are being reintroduced across the country. While most of the events surrounding the Duke’s Mayo Classic will be outside and thus, will not require a mask, anything and everything involving going inside will require one in Charlotte. If any Georgia or Clemson football fans have an issue here, get over it.
