LeBron James didn’t receive any votes for best player in the league by execs and scouts and he couldn’t be more upset about things.

Once he hangs up his sneakers for good, LeBron James will go down as one of the best players to ever suit up in the NBA. We could probably go on for hours arguing between him and Michael Jordan as to who’s the true GOAT.

Entering the 2021-22 season, though, James is getting no love as the best current player on the hardwood, as he didn’t receive a single vote as best player by execs and scouts in an ESPN poll. That shouldn’t be such an insult; he’s 36 years old, and Kevin Durant and Giannis Antetokounmpo exist. There can only be one player who’s the best in the NBA, and nobody is saying the King is, in fact, “washed.”

But you’d better believe this is going to motivate him moving forward.

LeBron James took to social media to let everyone know he’s motivated to prove his haters wrong

After the 2020-21 campaign ended in disappointing fashion, with the Los Angeles Lakers falling to the Phoenix Suns in the first round of the postseason, James was already fired up for the new season to arrive. Now, he’s got some extra motivation to prove folks wrong.

At the end of the day, yes, James is climbing a bit in age. With that being said, he completely changes the game whenever he’s on the hardwood. Last season, James was once again brilliant, as he recorded 25.0 points, 7.8 assists and 7.7 rebounds per game.

He had hopes of helping the Lakers win back-to-back NBA Finals, but injuries really had a negative impact on the team. Come next season, however, Anthony Davis should be back at a full-go and the team landed Russell Westbrook this offseason.

LA could be on its way to another memorable year. James will hope to win yet another NBA Finals, while reminding countless folks that he’s indeed one of the best in the game … even if he’s no longer seen as the best.

Next. Russell Westbrook had some strong words for young opponents of the veteran Lakers. dark
