2. WR Chad Beebe

The Vikings don’t put three wide receivers on the field much, so Beebe has been fine in the limited role (20 receptions on 30 targets in 14 games last year). But the team has added competition this offseason, drafting Imir Smith-Marsette and signing Dede Westbrook just before camp. And by all accounts, K.J. Osborn has significantly thrown his hat in ring in the battle to be the No. 3 wideout.

Let’s say the Vikings keep five or six wide receivers on their 53-man roster. Here’s how the depth chart looks.

Justin Jefferson, Adam Thielen, Dede Westbrook, K.J. Osborn, Imir Smith-Marsette, Chad Beebe, Warren Jackson, Whop Philyor

Jefferson, Thielen, Westbrook and Obsorn are locks. Smith-Marsette could be given up on early, but he’d surely get signed by another team quickly.  Jackson is a mystery man, after being essentially signed as a camp body.

The Vikings know who Beebe is at this point, and his upside just isn’t great. He’s certainly an NFL player, he’s just being (rightly) pushed out of the mix in Minnesota.
