It sure sounds like Carson Wentz will start Week 1 for the Indianapolis Colts at quarterback.

After having undergone foot surgery only a few weeks ago, Carson Wentz is back at Indianapolis Colts practice and is getting all the reps with the first team.

Wentz was traded over to the Colts from the Philadelphia Eagles this offseason. He reunites with his former Eagles offensive coordinator Frank Reich. While Indianapolis was the ideal landing spot for Wentz after a terrible last year with the Eagles, the injury concerns remained. Fortunately, it seems as though Wentz will be back way earlier than expected and should be starting Week 1.

We all were wondering why the Colts did not panic to sign a quarterback, and this is the reason.

Carson Wentz returns to Indianapolis Colts practice, gets all first-team reps

This is fantastic news for Colts fans, as having Wentz under center for 17 regular-season games gives Indianapolis a leg up to win the AFC South for the first time since 2014. With the division rival Tennessee Titans losing offensive coordinator Arthur Smith to the Atlanta Falcons head-coaching gig, they are expected to regress a bit. Simply put, this is the Colts division to lose now.

While it is great to see Wentz back in practice and getting all the first-team reps, the only thing that matters is if he stays healthy throughout the duration of the season. Indianapolis will only be as good as Wentz allows them to be. The Colts will not be favored to win any games if either Jacob Eason or Sam Ehlinger are starting games for them. Wentz is paramount to the Colts’ success.

If Wentz can return this quickly from surgery, there is hope guard Quenton Nelson returns soon.
