Cleveland Browns wide receiver Davion Davis has been suspended two games for violating the league’s program os substance abuse.

This isn’t the first time Davis has been in trouble with the league, as he was also arrested for a DUI back in 2019. While it was already a question mark as to whether the 24-year-old would make the Browns roster, odds are this in the nail in the coffin.

Davis had over 100 receiving yards just last week against the New York Giants, leading some to wonder if he might be able to steal a roster spot.

Cleveland Browns: Davion Davis was battling for a roster spot

While Davis could’ve been coming for a top-4 wideout spot, there was some doubt as to his long-term potential.

Dawg Pound Daily’s Elliot Kennel posed this question just today:

"Rashard “Hollywood” Higgins at times was the best receiver that the Cleveland Browns had last season, when Odell Beckham, Jr. went down with a knee injury and Jarvis Landry was not his normal Pro Bowl self as he struggled to play with badly bruised ribs.Is it possible that Davion Davis has been so impressive that the Browns will be forced to keep him, along with young players that they have committed to such as Donovan Peoples-Jones and Anthony Schwartz?"

Now, perhaps the Browns don’t have to worry about letting Davis walk, or putting him on waivers. The practice squad could also be an option while he rebuilds his image once again.
