With the future of Cristiano Ronaldo and Juventus totally up in the air, could he end up making a return to the English Premier League?

With the summer transfer window ending on Aug. 31, one of the biggest names out there in terms of a potential move is no doubt Cristiano Ronaldo. The 36-year-old star appears to be set on leaving Juventus, with a number of clubs interested in him.

With that said, could a return to Manchester end up happening? In a bit of a stunner, however, Ronaldo wouldn’t be donning the Red of Manchester United. Instead, he’d potentially be playing for the other team in town.

Manchester City has interest in a transfer for Cristiano Ronaldo

According to insider Fabrizio Romano, Ronaldo’s agent has been in touch with Manchester City about a potential move to the Etihad Stadium. We don’t have to tell you how many United fans’ hearts would be broken if this were to happen.

Ronaldo is a United legend, as he won three English Premier League titles with the Old Trafford side and a Champions League under Sir Alex Ferguson. Seeing him play for Manchester City would be weird, but Pep Guardiola clearly likes the idea of adding the superstar to the attack.

City has been incredibly busy this summer, highlighted by bringing in winger Jack Grealish on a record-breaking deal. There was some hope that Guardiola could also welcome striker Harry Kane, but the Tottenham player has already announced that he won’t be going anywhere this summer.

Enter Ronaldo? If he’s available, City is of course going to try and make a transfer happen. Football fans across the globe will find out by next week if this ends up happening or not.
