Cleveland Browns safety John Johnson isn’t scared whatsoever about about taking on the Kansas City Chiefs come Week 1.

After spending the first four years of his career with the Los Angeles Rams, John Johnson III is all set to begin his career with the Cleveland Browns. Unfortunately for Johnson and Cleveland, they open the season on the road against the mighty Kansas City Chiefs.

For the strong safety, it doesn’t matter that the Chiefs are his opponents for Week 1. Matter of fact, Johnson isn’t intimidated at all knowing that he’ll have to try and deflect passes thrown by Patrick Mahomes. He made that much clear while speaking with 92.3 The Fan.

John Johnson is ready to face the Chiefs come Week 1

“That’s the last one from last year, it’s going to be the first one from this year so there’s definitely a little – it’s a vindictive vibe, you know,” Johnson told 92.3 The Fan. “We definitely want to get back at those guys but, you know, I always want to win the opener regardless of who it is so that’s what we got to go out there and do.”

For Johnson, it doesn’t matter if he was playing the Chiefs, Raiders, Cowboys or any other team in the NFL to start the season. That doesn’t take away from his focus on starting the year with an impressive win.

Obviously, it will be quite a difficult task for the Browns to record an upset win over the Chiefs to open up the season, but Cleveland is stacked with plenty of talent as well. If they can keep things close in the fourth quarter, you never know if Baker Mayfield can power the team to victory with an impressive late drive. Johnson is ready for the team to make that happen.

Next. Baker Mayfield isn’t following his Browns contract negotiations as closely as we are. dark
