Carolina Panthers owner Dave Tepper swore on live television, culminating in a hilarious interaction with former wideout Steve Smith.

This is the final week of NFL preseason action, which means that training camp cuts and the 2021 regular-season are on the horizon. The Carolina Panthers played in their final game of summer football on Friday night, where they defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers 34-9. The one thing that went viral from that game was not on the field, but up in the broadcast booth.

Panthers owner Dave Tepper donned the broadcast headset to talk about the team and the upcoming season. In the process, Tepper accidentally swore on live television, prompting commentator and former Panthers wideout Steve Smith to remind him that he was probably going to get fined. Tepper then responded with the ultimate boss answer:

“I can afford it.”

A genuinely hilarious interaction between Tepper and Smith.

The Panthers are poised to make a leap up the NFC South standings based off the moves they made this offseason. They addressed the quarterback situation by acquiring former third-overall pick Sam Darnold in a trade with the New York Jets, opting against selecting one of the first-round, signal caller prospects.

Additionally, they added to their defense by signing former Arizona Cardinals linebacker Haason Reddick in free agency and used the eighth-overall pick on top cornerback prospect Jaycee Horn.

Tepper certainly hopes that 2021 will be the year the Panthers return to the playoffs for the first time since 2017. If not, expect plenty of more swear words to leave his lips throughout the season.
